The Holy Word of God
A Perfect Record of Divine Speech
(Infallible and Inherent)

Revelare or Revelation sums up the foundation of human knowledge. God has pulled back the curtain; He has revealed to us knowledge concerning what we are to believe about God and what God requires of His creation. God has revealed Himself in person, words and principles. These can be found only in the Scriptures, which He Himself has given through the inspiration and direction of the Holy Spirit. He is speaking God, He has not remained silent but has spoken that we might know Him and how we might glorify and enjoy Him.

Our faith is therefore not grounded upon mere sense, man-centered rationalism or any hedonistic philosophy, but upon the whole of the Word of God, recored for us in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament. The Scriptures are without error (inerrant and infallible) in the original manuscripts, and represent the ultimate authority for our faith and practice. The Bible is our guide and is the foundation for matters relating to the body of Christ, the Church including the individuals called unto salvation. All matters of thought, emotion and action are to be guided by and informed by the Bible. We are thereby committed to proclaiming the whole of God’s Word to the whole person, that we might be conformed to the image of the Word that was made Flesh, Jesus Christ.

Concerning the Gospel. We believe Jesus to be the Son of God, the second-person of the Godhead. He became flesh and dwelt among men for the purpose of redemption and reconciliation. The Word made Flesh revealed to us the way of salvation, which is belief that Jesus is able to save us from our sins, even as He came to satisfy God’s wrath against sinners, by dying the death we deserved. Despite tasting death, Jesus could would not remain dead, but was raised up by the Holy Spirit, conquering death and the curse of sin for all who confess Him and Redeemer and Lord, and cling to Him alone for salvation. This Gospel or “good news” that salvation from spiritual death has come is not only the very heart of Biblical revelation, but it is the central message of the Church of Christ. It is the foundation for all Biblical Doctrine, and it also is the heart of the Church’s Mission - to proclaim Christ for sinners.

What the Bible Tells Us

God – A Triune Lord

There is one God, who exists eternally in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. And these three persons are the same in substance, equal in power and glory. God is infinite and eternal in His being, wisdom, power, justice, goodness and truth.

Humanity – Imagio Dei

We believe that all people, being created in the image of God, possess God-given honor, as they were made to reflect God’s character and calling in all of life. And though created innocent, man fell be rebelling against a Holy and Wise God. We believe then that all people are born as sinners, separated from God, totally depraved and totally unable to save themselves from God’s displeasure, except by his mercy.

Salvation – A Legacy of Love

We believe that salvation is by God alone as that He sovereignly and mercifully chooses those he will save. We believe his choice is based on his grace, not on any human individual merit, or foreseen faith. We believe that salvation is through Christ alone by grace alone through faith alone.

Concerning Jesus – A Messiah for Sinful Men

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, who through his perfect life and sacrificial death atoned for the sins of all who would trust in Him, alone, for salvation. Jesus, our Redeemer, was raised again for our justification, and ascended into the heavens, where He sits as Priest at the right hand of the Father Almighty, continually making intercession for His people, and governing as King, the whole world as head over all things for his church. We believe that Jesus will return, bodily and visibly, to judge all mankind, to receive his people to himself, and to renew all things.

Concerning the Holy Spirit – Our Helper and Teacher

We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells God’s people and gives them the strength and wisdom to trust Christ and follow him. We believe that the Holy Spirit refreshes, remakes, restores, reforms, and revives. The Holy Spirit moves us to trust and leads us.
